What Happens During a Facial?

A facial involves cleaning, exfoliating and hydrating your skin with healthy antioxidants and peptides to give it the strength to fend off debris, dirt and the pesky signs of aging that they cause.

How Often Should You Get a Facial?

It takes approximately one month for the skin to complete a growth and exfoliation cycle. This means every four weeks, your body naturally produces new skin cells, and the top layer of cells dies off. That said, skincare professionals recommend facials every three to four weeks for most people. Following this schedule helps ensure you have glowing, healthy skin every day! In addition to a healthier appearance, regular facials can help reduce blackheads, clean pores and maintain a healthy, youthful appearance. Because some people may benefit from facial treatments on a different schedule, it is essential to talk to your skincare professional about what works best for your skincare needs.

How Long Does a Facial Last?

Most professional skincare providers offer a wide variety of facial options. There are facials designed to target specific problem areas, including deep-cleansing, acne reducing, brightening, nourishing, anti-aging, prescription, and many others. Each facial uses specific techniques, products, and procedures to help achieve your desired skincare outcomes.

The broad range of facial options leads to a range of procedure durations. In general, the simple, express facials last approximately 30 minutes. Other, more in-depth, or target-specific facials may last 45, 60, or even 90 minutes. Some patients find it helpful to "try out" the facial experience by choosing an express facial for their first procedure so they can learn what a facial is and what the procedure is like.

How Much Does a Facial Cost?

The cost of a facial treatment will vary according to the type of facial treatment. Most facial treatments start around $99 and go up to $300 per session for facials focusing on specific treatment needs or skin concerns. Express or simple treatments will cost less than more luxurious treatments such as Hydrafacial treatments and other advanced treatments.

It is also important to remember that specific add ons to a traditional facial will add to your cost. For example, poor extractions, appeals comma, and light treatments will increase the price. If you are interested in a specific treatment, contact your skincare professional to learn more about that treatment and its associated costs.
